Spalding and Small Join Lockton in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn., Feb. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Lockton, the world's largest privately held insurance broker, has added longtime Nashville healthcare professional Maggie Spalding and healthcare insurance advisor Heidi Small to its team.

Spalding has been named Vice President-Account Executive at Lockton where she will be responsible for healthcare insurance program development, negotiation, placement, and service for corporate clients.  Small has been named Account Manager at Lockton where she will be responsible for providing service for healthcare insurance programs.

Spalding comes to Lockton from Alliant Insurance Services where she was a Vice President the past five years.  Spalding is an insurance executive with 23 years of experience in insurance sales, service and brokerage, all exclusively working with healthcare industry clients. She has been responsible for business development and client service across a diverse portfolio including hospitals, integrated delivery systems, home health, physician groups, elder care services, ambulatory services, behavioral health, dialysis, correctional medical care and other ancillary services.

Prior to joining Alliant, Spalding was an Area Vice President with Gallagher Healthcare. Before Gallagher, she worked 13 years as Vice President with Aon Risk Services where responsibilities included client accountability and supporting large healthcare clients, with an emphasis in integrated delivery systems, elder care services and ancillary service companies. Spalding has specialized in being an insurance partner for the healthcare industry, bringing proven experience, intellectual capital, and a strong team to strategically and creatively address current exposures and uncover new and emerging risks.

In December, 2013, Spalding was recognized as "Volunteer of the Year" by Leadership Health Care for her exceptional support of LHC programs and its members. Spalding holds a bachelor's degree in Business from San Diego State University-California State University.

Small joins Lockton after five years with Alliant Insurance Services as an Account Manager.  Small assisted healthcare clients with a focus on physician based providers such as physician groups and hospitals. She also was responsible for the day to day needs of healthcare clients including the marketing and renewal of insurance programs. Prior to her time at Alliant, Small worked for insurance broker Arthur J. Gallagher for eight years as an Account Manager for healthcare clients with a focus on physician based providers such as physician groups and hospitals. She was responsible for the day to day needs of healthcare clients including the marketing and renewal of accounts.
