Spark Energy & Arbor Day Foundation Partnering to Plant 12,000 Trees

HOUSTON, May 21, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- For the second year, Spark Energy celebrated Earth Month through a partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation that will result in thousands of trees planted on behalf of residential customers. The retail energy services company surpassed its target of donating ten thousand trees by twenty percent, resulting in a total of twelve thousand trees being provided for reforestation efforts in four states.

Spark Energy's residential customers could easily participate in the initiative by simply selecting a green electricity or natural gas plan during the month of April. As result of the campaign, the Arbor Day Foundation will plant trees in reforestation projects in California, Texas, Michigan, and New Jersey.

This was the second straight year the retail energy provider donated trees. In 2014, Spark Energy donated fifteen thousand trees that were planted in Illinois, California, and Texas.
