SparkCognition Congratulates Executive Board Member Gen. John Allen On Appointment as President of Brookings Institution

Allen brings unparalleled and valuable experience to this new role following his exceptional career in defense and national security. In addition to serving as an Executive Board Member to SparkCognition, Allen, a retired United States Marine Corps four-star General and past Deputy Commander of U.S. Central Command, previously served as Commander of the International Security Assistance Force and U.S. Forces Afghanistan (USFOR-A). He also has served as a Brookings Senior Fellow for foreign policy and as the co-director of the Center for 21^st Century Security and Intelligence. Allen will continue to serve on SparkCognition's Executive Board.

Former President Barack Obama appointed Allen as Special Presidential Envoy for the Global Coalition to Counter ISIL, where he led the complex assignment of building, from conception, a robust international coalition that would undertake a wide range of political, diplomatic, military, economic, and other efforts to degrade and ultimately defeat ISIL.
