Led by newly promoted SVP Shozib Khan, the Strategic Asset Performance division pairs financial and operating intelligence with direct executive support, helping Spire identify and act on opportunities sooner
IRVING, Texas, Sept. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Spire Hospitality today announced the launch of its Strategic Asset Performance division, uniting financial strategy, business intelligence, technology, AI, and hotel resources around a shared focus on hotel and portfolio performance. The division is designed to connect financial and operating intelligence more directly with property-level decision-making, forming a single, data-driven model that pairs that insight with experienced hotel leadership to protect and enhance asset value for owners.
Spire has promoted Shozib Khan to senior vice president of Strategic Asset Performance to lead the new division, expanding his leadership across information technology, hotel resources and transitions, brand resources, financial planning, and hotel systems. His responsibilities will also include Spire Hospitality's AI and enterprise automation strategy and direct partnership with ownership on hotel performance.
The move comes as hospitality companies have access to more data and technology than ever, while connecting that information to decisions and execution remains the harder, unsolved problem. Financial planning, business intelligence, and technology each provide a different view of performance, and combined with what property teams see day to day, those perspectives can show where attention is needed and how best to respond. As portfolios grow, that challenge compounds: the same issues and opportunities surface across hotels, and the question becomes where added resources will have the greatest impact. Spire created Strategic Asset Performance to give that work greater focus and accountability across the organization, connecting intelligence to execution rather than solving the same challenges one property at a time.
"Owners expect their management partners to do more than explain performance after the fact," said Richard Sandoval, Spire Hospitality CEO. "We need to see opportunities sooner and have the structure to act on them. Strategic Asset Performance creates that accountability, giving our teams a clearer path from what we're seeing across the portfolio to actions that improve performance and strengthen asset value. Shozib is the right person to lead it, and this role reflects the impact he's already had across our business."
Strategic Asset Performance will expand how Spire uses financial and operating intelligence to support its hotels. The division will develop financial models around key decisions and performance opportunities, provide executive oversight to selected hotels when additional attention is needed, and evolve financial planning into a more predictive discipline. That gives teams earlier visibility into what could affect future performance and a clearer path from insight to measurable results.
AI and enterprise automation are central to the division's work. Rather than treating innovation as a separate track, Spire is integrating these capabilities directly into how it operates, using them to make forecasting more predictive, retire legacy manual processes, and surface opportunities that would otherwise be difficult to identify. The focus stays on outcomes: together, these capabilities build toward a scalable performance engine that connects strategy to execution across the portfolio.
For ownership partners, the result is a stronger strategic partner, focused not just on reporting results but on improving them. Decisions are weighed through a financial and ownership lens, with closer alignment between what the data shows and what is happening at each hotel, giving owners a clearer view of performance, and Spire a sharper focus on where to act.
"The next evolution of hotel performance is seeing where the opportunity is before it shows up in a month-end report," Khan said. "We're moving financial intelligence closer to the property, putting the right resources behind what we find, and doing it fast enough to change the outcome—not just report on it."
Khan brings more than 25 years of hospitality leadership experience to the role, spanning both hotel operations and the enterprise functions this division now brings together. An award-winning general manager earlier in his career, he most recently served as Spire's vice president of owner services, and previously as vice president of hotel performance and analytics.
Strategic Asset Performance reflects how Spire intends to operate as it enters its next phase of growth, building new capabilities without losing sight of the fundamentals that drive hospitality: strong leadership, disciplined execution, and trusted ownership relationships. The goal is stronger performance today and sustainable, long-term value for ownership partners.
