SSL engineer honored with SSPI award for young professionals that promise to be the satellite industry's future leaders

Dr. Dawson joined SSL in 2010 after earning both her Master's degree and Ph.D. in mechanical engineering at Stanford University. Her first role at SSL was Senior Spacecraft Systems Engineer and in 2015 she became a Product Assurance Program Manager, where she demonstrated an exceptional ability to manage customer expectations and lead multi-disciplinary teams. In September 2016 Jennifer assumed her current role as Director of Marketing and Sales, where she channels her technical and customer-focused experience into helping satellite operators develop systems that strengthen their businesses.

Among her numerous career achievements and contributions to SSL, Jennifer took the lead role for SSL's Shock Committee, and acted as the senior technical leader for all shock related issues. She used an iterative process to redefine qualification requirements, aggressively simplifying and improving them with each update.
