St. Joseph Health's Breakthrough Wellness/Medical Center Arrives in Northern and Central Orange County

ANAHEIM, Calif., Sept. 8, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Once again adding more options for today's consumers, St. Joseph Health is bringing a ground-breaking Wellness Corner to Anaheim, Calif. The site, at 200 W. Center Street Promenade in Anaheim, will provide routine medical care, along with services that promote healthy lifestyles for the local workforce and residents.

The 1,135 -square foot Wellness Center is the first-of-its-kind in central and northern Orange County. Similar to Wellness Corners that St. Joseph Health has developed in southern Orange County, this newest addition offers primary care for annual physicals, minor illnesses and chronic conditions; lifestyle coaching for nutrition, sleep, stress and exercise; specialty labs such as cardiometabolic testing (for cardiovascular disease and type II diabetes) and micronutrient analysis (for vitamin and mineral deficiencies), as well as routine laboratory services.

St. Joseph Health operates the Wellness Corner at Kinetic in Newport Beach, Calif. and three other Wellness Corners in Irvine, Calif., at the Jamboree Center office community, The Village Irvine Spectrum apartments and St. Joseph Health's corporate office at Park Place. Additionally, the health system works with corporate partners Western Digital and Masimo in Irvine to provide wellness centers exclusively for their employees.

The Anaheim site will serve local residents and workers, as well as employees of St. Joseph Heritage Healthcare's administrative office, which is located just steps away.  Most insurance plans are accepted and those patients who want follow-up consultation with a physician who is part of St. Joseph Health network will find selecting a network physician simple to do.

Since their inception, the St. Joseph Health Wellness Corners have achieved significant health improvement outcomes. Among the outcomes experienced at the St. Joseph Health employee site are increased productivity and a decrease in those rated high-risk for chronic disease.  Wellness Center users also rate the service extremely high - 98.5 percent satisfaction and many said they would have likely avoided preventive and basic care had they not had the services immediately available to them.
