Stellar® Strengthens Exchange Database Repair to Tackle Dirty Shutdown and Mount Errors

New enhancements in the latest version 12.2 help IT administrators repair corrupt or inaccessible Exchange databases, recover deleted mailbox items, and restore mailbox data directly to Live Exchange or Microsoft 365

KATY, Texas, Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Stellar®, a global leader in Data Care, introduces new enhancements to Stellar® Repair for Exchange, its specialized software for repairing corrupt or inaccessible Exchange Database (EDB) files and recovering critical mailbox data.

Exchange database corruption, accidental deletion of mailbox items, server failures, and database access issues can prevent organizations from accessing essential email data and disrupt business continuity. Common triggers include Dirty Shutdown errors and failures when mounting the Exchange database, both of which can leave mailbox data inaccessible until the database is repaired. This version strengthens the software's repair and recovery capabilities, giving IT administrators' greater flexibility to recover mailbox data and restore to an available Exchange environment.

The key enhancements in Stellar® Repair for Exchange Version 12.2 include:

1. Recovery of Deleted Mailbox Items
Recover deleted mailbox items from Recoverable Items folders, including emails, attachments, contacts, calendars, notes, tasks, and journals.
2. Direct Export of Repaired Mailboxes to Microsoft 365 and Live Exchange
Export repaired mailbox data, helping restore mailbox access efficiently. The tool will automatically map the mailboxes, using the mailbox IDs, from the source EDB file

By supporting direct export to Live Exchange and Microsoft 365 without an Outlook profile, Stellar® Repair for Exchange provides additional options when conventional Exchange access or restoration workflows are unavailable.

The software is designed to work with corrupt or inaccessible EDB files and recover mailbox components including emails, attachments, contacts, calendars, tasks, notes, journals, and public folders. It can save recovered mailbox data in PST and other formats or export it directly to Live Exchange or Microsoft 365.

"Email infrastructure remains critical to business communication and continuity. When an Exchange database becomes corrupt or inaccessible, administrators need a reliable way to recover mailbox data and restore access without adding unnecessary complexity. Our focus is on helping IT teams repair affected databases, recover critical information, and restore operations with greater efficiency and control," said Sunil Chandna, Founder & CEO of Stellar®.

The software scans and analyzes damaged Exchange databases to identify recoverable mailbox data while maintaining the original mailbox structure. The software helps IT teams address database-level failures while retaining greater control over the recovery process. Administrators can preview recovered mailbox data before saving or restoring it, helping verify the required information and reducing the risk of overlooking critical business communications.

For organizations seeking a web-based repair option, Stellar® also offers Stellar® Online Exchange Repair, which repairs corrupt or inaccessible EDB files and recovers mailbox data while preserving the original mailbox hierarchy. The online service does not require Exchange Server or Outlook and allows recovered mailboxes to be previewed before download.

Stellar® Repair for Exchange is built to resolve scenarios like 'a database stuck in a Dirty Shutdown state' OR 'an EDB file that fails to mount on the Exchange server' and seamlessly restore access without requiring a full database rebuild.
