Stephen Rich joins Avison Young in Boston

Industry veteran will continue to represent office tenants in CBD

BOSTON, MA, April 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ - Michael Smith, Avison Young Principal and Managing Director of the company's Boston office, announced today the strategic hiring of tenant-representation specialist Stephen Rich in Boston.

Effective immediately, Rich, a 30-year industry veteran, joins Avison Young as a Principal. He will continue to represent office tenants in Boston's Central Business District (CBD), with a focus on professional services firms, and emerging tech, institutional and non-profit space occupiers. Rich most recently served as a Senior Vice-President at DTZ in Boston.

During his career, Rich has completed more than 800 leasing and consulting assignments on behalf of clients. At DTZ, he was recognized as one of the firm's overall top 40 producers by gross revenue in 2013 and 2014. He began his real estate career in 1985 at Cushman & Wakefield, where he served as a downtown broker for seven years. He then held a leadership position at The Codman Company for seven years before moving on to open and serve as the director of the Boston office of Equis Corporation (rebranded as DTZ in 2012).

Rich holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology from St. Lawrence University in New York State. He is currently a candidate for Corenet's Master of Corporate Real Estate (MCR) designation.
