Deutsch began his U-Haul career in May 2002 as assistant general manager at South Las Vegas Blvd. U-Haul Center (838-024). Shortly thereafter, he was promoted to general manager (GM) of Nellis Blvd. U-Haul Center (838-025). After a year of managing 838-025, in June 2003, Deutsch was named GM of U-Haul Moving and Trailer Hitch Center of Las Vegas (838-069), the position he held for seven years until his recent promotion. Today, Deutsch will oversee all operations of UHC of Nevada, including truck, trailer and storage rentals. His U-Haul experience and his proven leadership skills certainly will drive Team 838 to success.
"With Steven's experience and positive can-do attitude, I know he will be a great asset and leader of his team," ADVP Frank affirmed. "His ability to handle any situation, no matter what, will bring him and his team great success!"
In assuming his new role, Deutsch is most excited to take on the challenge of serving as president of Co. 838, and is looking forward to teaching as well as learning from his new team members. Deutsch plans on working one on one with his team to make sure they understand why programs are put into place vs. just being told what to do. He believes that if he is able to teach and show his team members, they will benefit from understanding the implementation of U-Haul policies and procedures in order to increase storage occupancy.
Deutsch's main goal is to ultimately increase storage occupancy, which will drive overall profits. He plans on reaching this goal by applying his company's built-in strength, which, he says, is knowledge. Deutsch explains that Co. 838 has team members who have been with the company for many years, and by combining their strength and knowledge with his own, he is certain they can increase the core strength of the company, which in turn will lead to increased storage occupancy, transactions and profits throughout UHC of Nevada.
"It takes a strong core along with good teamwork for any team to win... After all, the Yankees did not win 27 pennants without having a strong core and good teamwork," Deutsch explained. "I am dedicated to the company and believe that with hard work and dedication, we can all succeed."
