Five generations of Berry's have been hunting environments that are rugged, barren and offer little natural cover. Chuck fondly reminisces about hunting Mule Deer on horseback in his youth and has a number of stories about riding up on bare hills with one or two Yuccas and a massive buck lying in their shade, which is when he first came up with the concept of creating a camo pattern based on the Yucca. His vision remained just that until he partnered with his son, Trey, a highly successful realtor and entrepreneur in Austin who had the graphic design skills and marketing savvy to bring the idea to market.
"We started seriously thinking about creating our own camo design after a bow Mule Deer hunt in New Mexico about 10 years ago," said Trey Berry, CEO and co-founder of Stickman Camo. "We purchased a number of expensive Ghillie suits for the hunt, which looked great at arm's length, but were anything but effective because they really didn't fit into the desert environment. We knew there had to be a better way and after years of research and trials we created camo so good people don't just blend in - they become part of their environment."
That's because Stickman Camo's Soto, tri-tone colored theme of green on top, yellow in the center and gray on bottom break up the hunter's outline allowing them to blend into virtually any environment while traditional, single color, full-body camo pattern clothing does little to conceal hunters on hillsides or other gradients.
