StinkBOSS Named Finalist in IHA Global Innovation Awards
OVERLAND PARK, Kan., March 16, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- StinkBOSS, an ARY company, is pleased to announce that it has been chosen as one of the finalists for the New Product Showcase/IHA Global Innovation Awards at the International Home & Housewares Show in the Cleaning category, for its shoe and sports gear deodorizer, dryer and sanitizer.
StinkBOSS was one of 500 entries and 65 finalists for product design; and one of 5 finalists in the Cleaning category. Entries were received and judged by a panel of industry experts and news media. Winners in 13 categories will be announced during the invitation-only GIA dinner Saturday, March 18. The finalists and winners will be on display in the Hall of Global Innovation in the Lakeside Center Lobby throughout the IH&H Show.
The Global Innovation Awards finalist is not the only recognition StinkBOSS is receiving. The hi-tech home gadget was featured on the TODAY Show's Hot Fall Tech Gadgets segment.
StinkBOSS creator, Hilary Philgreen, came up with the idea while getting a whiff of sweaty soccer gear and basketball shoes when carpooling after a day of kid's sports. She just couldn't take it anymore! "My kids stink," she said with a laugh. "We were in the car a lot, and it smelled so bad that we had to roll the windows down, and I thought, 'I have got to come up with a solution.'" Philgreen worked with engineers and developers to come up with the StinkBOSS concept.
StinkBOSS doesn't just mask odors, but rather utilizes ozone to kill the bacteria that cause stink. StinkBOSS dries, disinfects and deodorizes shoes, cleats, gym bags, hockey gloves and more.
