StockTwits Launches Rooms So Investors Can "Find Their Tribe"

NEW YORK, Aug. 2, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- StockTwits, the largest social platform for investors and traders, is announcing the launch of Rooms, a product that enables users to create new communities based on shared interests, specific stocks or trends affecting the markets.

More than 1.5 million investors are already using StockTwits to leverage the wisdom and experience of their peers to make informed investing decisions. Registered users of the platform generate and share more than 200,000 ideas and messages every day.  

As the StockTwits network grows by more than 50% year-over-year, the Rooms product will offer users enhanced tools for finding and engaging with like-minded investors.

"Users can set up a Room to chat about any topic that interests them, which means they won't have to go off the platform for a more interactive exchange of ideas. Rooms, which is being released today, will enable users to create, name, customize and set rules for new chat groups devoted to the topics of their choosing. A user creating a Room can name a moderator for the discussion, control who posts in the Room, and highlight messages from the group based on their popularity.

With the Rooms product, users will share their insights in a space they create and curate themselves, conducting conversations on the platform they love, and where they are building their reputations as savvy investors.

Rooms will initially enable chat, with users being able to post messages of up to 1,000 characters that include as many as four images. Future iterations of the product will include video chat, longer form content, automated posting, monetization, and other features.
