
Streamworks Breaks Another Online Streaming Record at Major League Gaming's Orlando Pro Circuit Video Game Competition
NEW YORK, Oct. 24, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Streamworks, the global streaming company that uses proprietary technology and end-to-end service to help news, sports and entertainment brands deliver better streaming experiences, today announced it has consecutively delivered record-breaking peak concurrent viewers of Major League Gaming (MLG) Pro Circuit tournament live streams between June and October 2011. Streamworks partnered with MLG to deliver live, uninterrupted streams of its Pro Circuit tournaments to millions of fans online and on mobile devices across more than 160 countries. Streamworks will continue to work with MLG to deliver live and on-demand coverage of its 2011 and 2012 Pro Circuit competitions.
Streamworks created customized coding applications that fit within MLG's workflow, including a video player and subscription functionality, enabling MLG to deliver a seamless and reliable viewing experience. The October 2011 MLG tournament in Orlando delivered the most views to date, with 181,000 concurrent views. The combined live online video viewership for the last four MLG tournaments in Columbus, Anaheim, Raleigh, and Orlando totaled 11.1 million hours.
