Strideline And NBA'S Only Three-Time Dunk Champ And NFL Hopeful Nate Robinson Announce Pocket Sock Kickstarter

The Strideline x Nate Robinson Pocket Sock is the first athletic sock that will hold the wearer's valuables, evolving a mundane article of clothing to the most purposeful part of a wardrobe. Whether the user is working out, traveling, running errands or headed to the office, the Pocket Sock is a versatile addition to any outfit. "I've often found myself heading out and not wanting to take my whole wallet with me – all I needed was a key, ID and money," said Nate Robinson, an 11-year NBA veteran. "There is an untapped market for a sock with a convenient, functional pocket. I've worn Strideline socks for years, and instantly knew they were the right partner to bring this vision to life."

The Pocket Sock features a first-of-its-kind pocket, attached by a seamless adhesive. Designed with Strideline's Strapped Fit 2.0 technology, the Pocket Sock is engineered with choice materials sourced from around the world, including compression fabric from Taiwan, seamless adhesive from Italy, premium yarns from China, and is assembled and colored with digital ink technology at a state-of-the-art facility in the Philippines.

"The Pocket Sock combines style, comfort and function for an end-user that is active and on-the go," said Riley Goodman, co-founder of Strideline. "Nate was the first professional athlete to regularly wear Strideline socks and he is a big Strideline supporter. We're thrilled to collaborate on this project to bring the Pocket Sock to life."

The Kickstarter goal is $50,000 to fund the materials and manufacturing of the first production run. Incentive-based pledge levels begin at $20 and run up to $5,000 with rewards such as an experience designing a custom Pocket Sock, lunch with Strideline's co-founders and a BBQ at Nate Robinson's home in Seattle.

ABOUT NATE ROBINSON
Born in Seattle, Nate Robinson has close ties to the Pacific Northwest community. After playing both football and basketball at the University of Washington, Robinson was the 21^st pick of the 2005 NBA draft, selected by the Phoenix Suns and later traded to the New York Knicks. Most notably, Robinson is the NBA's first three-time slam dunk champion. During his 11 years in the league, the 5'9" point guard played for the New York Knicks, Boston Celtics, Oklahoma City Thunder, Golden State Warriors, Chicago Bulls, Denver Nuggets and New Orleans Pelicans. Robinson authored Heart over Height in 2014, and is the co-owner of Nate's Wings and Waffles in Seattle. In 2016, Robinson announced aspirations to be the first athlete to play in the NFL after a career in the NBA. He currently plays basketball in Israel with Hapoel Tel Aviv.
