NEW YORK, Feb. 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Summit Business Media today announced that it has hired Josh Brous as Vice President of Branded Events.  Brous, previously VP Global Events at the Mobile Marketing Association, will manage financial, insurance and professional services conferences and programs. Prior to the MMA, he was Director of Program Development at Summit Business Media and is intimately familiar with the company's portfolio of event assets. "Summit's portfolio of events is a critical component of our overall growth strategy," said Steve Weitzner, President and CEO.  "Josh is a strong leader and communicator who already has relationships in place with key constituencies across Summit.  This position allows for increased focus on our events which offer numerous opportunities for growth both in the U.S. and abroad."

Brous originally joined Summit in 2008 to run all non-mining conference program content.  Prior to Summit, he was Senior Director of Conferences at the Interactive Advertising Bureau and before that was at SourceMedia (formerly Thomson Media) as Program Development Manager.

"Josh will join us with a mandate to grow our branded events, including our Benefits Selling Expo, SuperConference and America's Claims Event.  He brings great intellectual capital to our business with strong knowledge of the events in our portfolio, the interworkings of our company and of our employees.  Josh will manage our existing portfolio of branded events and be fully responsible for their execution and success.  He will also work closely with our Media division colleagues to identify new event subject matter and platforms to drive significant organic growth," said Moore. "His arrival will also allow me to focus more closely on the advancement of our global Mining portfolio which includes our Mining Indaba brand and our Metals and Minerals events."
