TULSA, Okla., Aug. 26, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Summit ESP announced today the appointment of Mike Nieman as Director of Special Projects. Working from the Tulsa headquarters, Nieman will be responsible for optimizing Summit's field and manufacturing operations.

Mike brings to Summit ESP substantial senior management expertise in the artificial lift business, with a total of 30 years in the oil and gas industry. Most recently he was the region business leader for Western US - GE Oil & Gas Artificial Lift. In this position he was responsible for all manufacturing, sales, and service in the Permian Basin, Rocky Mountains, and West Coast areas. Prior to the GE position, Nieman worked for Wood Group ESP and Baker Hughes, where he held a number of positions including country manager, region manager, and sales and services manager. Mr. Nieman has a Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana State University. He is married with two children.
