Sun Life Global Investments appoints Schroder Investment Management North America Inc. as new sub-advisor

TORONTO, Aug. 20, 2013 /CNW/ - Sun Life Global Investments announced today that Schroder Investment Management North America Inc. ("Schroders") will assume the portfolio sub-advisory responsibilities for Sun Life Tradewinds Emerging Markets Fund, effective August 29, 2013. As a result of a sub-advisor review, Tradewinds Global Investors, LLC will no longer be the sub-advisor for this fund. The fund will be renamed Sun Life Schroder Emerging Markets Fund on the effective date of the change.

The investment objective of Sun Life Schroder Emerging Markets Fund remains unchanged:  to seek capital appreciation by investing primarily in equity securities of companies with a connection to emerging markets.

The investment strategies for the fund will be amended to reflect the new investment opportunities provided by Schroders, including the addition of the ability to invest in certain other investment funds. There will be a transition plan to rebalance the portfolio to securities and asset classes to reflect the new investment strategies. Schroders has engaged its affiliate, Schroder Investment Management North America Limited, to provide portfolio advisory services as well.
