BELTSVILLE, Md., Oct. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- SunEdison, a leading worldwide solar energy services provider and a subsidiary of MEMC Electronic Materials (NYSE: WFR), today announced its first utility scale solar deployment in Texas through a contract with CPS Energy, the nation's largest municipally owned energy utility that services more than one million customers in the San Antonio area.
SunEdison will build, own, and operate three solar generation facilities within the CPS Energy services territory totaling 30 megawatts (AC). "SunEdison is committed to the growing Texas solar energy market, and we look forward to expanding our utility scale presence in the state in 2011," said Carlos Domenech, President of SunEdison.
