Supply Chain Visions kicks off SBA ScaleUp Roanoke Valley
ROANOKE, Va., Jan. 8 , 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- ScaleUp Roanoke Valley, a SBA-funded small business support initiative that launched last fall, will be kicking off its first team of small business participants on January 15 at the CoLab on Grandin Road in Roanoke. The event will begin at 6 PM.
The ScaleUp initiative is designed to help companies scale their operations and grow, while strengthening and enhancing the local entrepreneurial ecosystems. The focus is on the specific needs of growth-oriented entrepreneurs and firms, to produce measurable economic impact and job growth in the Roanoke Valley.
The kickoff will highlight the business participants and feature a number of community leaders, speakers, and representatives from the state SBA, including James Williams, the Virginia SBA Deputy District Director. Each of the selected business owners and their businesses will be introduced and welcomed to the program by the supporting community.
The Grandin CoLab, an innovative entrepreneurship community and business resource for the Valley, will host the kickoff ceremonies and executive roundtables. The CoLab, opened early in 2014, is a valuable tool for business owners across Roanoke and will be a key asset to the ScaleUp program's resource pool.
Local small businesses selected to participate in the program are:
QuickFix Real Estate, Rosario's Boutique and Hair Salon, ProTect Painting/Rhoades Restoration, Eddy Communications, Baylee's Best Chocolates, Hethwood Market, AesirTech Consulting, Goodfellaz Pizza, The Steidle Law Firm, IX Publishing, Noah's Archaic, and the Roanoke Bagel Company.
"We are excited about this opportunity to support the small business community in the Roanoke Valley," said Steve Geary President of Supply Chain Visions Inc. "The SCV team has the experience, tools, and business network required to help the SBA scale up small businesses and stimulate local entrepreneurial ecosystems for growth."
