More than 700 to Gather for a Close Look at Trends, Business Model Innovation and Communications Strategies at the Fifth Annual Conference
SAN FRANCISCO, April 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Sustainable Life Media today announced its full Sustainable Brands '11 conference schedule and unveiled confirmed speakers for each of the three main conference days. Attendees will find themselves immersed in rich dialogue, set in motion by some of the world's leading thinkers and practitioners of environmental and social innovation – over 100 speakers in total. Plenary sessions launch each morning to inspire and provoke interactive conversations throughout the day. Facilitated break-out sessions, evening plenaries, Birds-of-a-Feather dinners and networking activities round out each day as executives look to understand the unfolding market drivers and leading-edge strategies for building business and brand value by innovating for sustainability.
The conference opens on Tuesday, June 7 with pre-conference workshops that provide skill-building fundamentals in how to inspire sustainability, innovate business models, measure ROI effectively and future proof brands through scenario planning. The opening night reception will feature Senior Scientist Allen Hershkowitz sharing NRDC's journey in shifting culture through the greening of professional sports and entertainment, and Emotional Branding author Marc Gobe with a look at the future of brand building in an over-stimulated world.
The first full day of the conference (Wednesday, June 8) explores the changing playing field of sustainability with a look into unfolding market drivers and trends. Katherine Brass of GE Ecomagination will share insights and lessons learned since presenting at the first Sustainable Brands conference in 2007, as well as predictions for the future. Bruce Boon Tip, Founder/CEO of Gap Adventure Travel, will speak on the shift toward embedding cause into your organization as a way to build brand value, and Bonnie Nixon, Executive Director of The Sustainability Consortium, will share thoughts on developing industry standards and tools as a way to create change.
On Thursday, June 9, plenary presentations will focus on business model innovation with opening remarks from MC, Marc Mathieu, Global SVP of Marketing at Unilever, on the design challenges for sustainable brands. Speeding innovation through better analytics will be the focus of Peter Graf's session from SAP. Chris Librie, Director of Global Sustainability from SC Johnson, will showcase how social innovation is exploding on the scene, and Arthur Rubinfeld, President, Global Development at Starbucks, will address the opportunity for global brands to have a positive impact on local communities.
The closing morning (June 10) turns attendees' attention to communicating sustainable brand value with opening sessions on the unfolding Green Brands landscape by Annie Longsworth of Cohn & Wolfe, who will look at more than five years of consumer attitudinal research. Lisa Bennett of DDB West will explore what it takes to break through the noise in consumer messaging, and Heather Scott from Nestle/Purina One will share creative ideas that engaged customers as partners in order to create a culture shift towards more sustainable consumption.
