S&W Seed Company Sponsors New Continuing Education Course for Alfalfa Pest Management

FIVE POINTS, Calif., July 10, 2012  /PRNewswire/ -- S&W Seed Company (Nasdaq: SANW), a leader in the development of non-dormant alfalfa seed varieties, today announced it is sponsoring a continuing education course (CEU) in association with Western Farm Press titled "Alfalfa Pest Management/Selecting the Right Variety." The course is the first of its kind devoted exclusively to alfalfa production in the Western U.S. and focuses on choosing the correct variety based on a number of factors, including pest and disease resistance. Alfalfa is unique in that varieties can be bred to naturally ward off pests and diseases, a key element in an Integrated Pest Management ("IPM") program. The course discusses many elements involved in selecting the right variety, as well as managing key pests and disease through IPM. The online CEU is approved for one hour of continuing education credit by California Department of Pesticide Regulation, California Certified Crop Adviser, Arizona Department of Agriculture, New Mexico Department of Agriculture, Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Oregon Department of Agriculture, and Texas Department of Agriculture.
