Swarovski Launches Swarovski Shine, Bringing A Touch Of Glamour To The Wearable Technology World

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- At CES 2015, Swarovski will unveil SWAROVSKI SHINE, the new collection that combines style with function to create a fashionable activity and sleep tracking device and a variety of coordinating jewelry, complementing wardrobes of women as they go about their multifaceted lives. Swarovski joined forces with Misfit, a California-based technology company, and contributed its distinctive touch of glamour and sparkle to a new line of wearable tech products.

At first glance, the pieces appear to simply be modern and contemporary jewelry. However the large faceted crystal, which is the centerpiece of the entire collection, is much more than a sparkling eye-catcher; it is a faceted crystal stone embedded with expert tracking technology from Misfit. It measures steps; calories burned; distance and even sleep quality; and synchronizes wirelessly with an app on the wearer's smartphone. With a simple tap, the Swarovski Shine activity tracker lights up to indicate not only the time, but also the status of activity accomplished for the day.

Swarovski Shine accompanies women from day to night, suiting all styles and occasions thanks to a range of nine compatible pieces of jewelry available in timeless and easy-to-wear designs. "With the Swarovski Shine collection, we were able to bring our strong jewelry styling point of view, developing versatile pieces which can work with this very practical device to really address modern and multifaceted women," said Creative Director Nathalie Colin.

Re-interpreting iconic Swarovski jewelry, including the "Slake" bracelet and "Vio" pendant, as well as introducing brand new designs, the pieces in the collection feature Swarovski's signature refined crystal pave, hand-set Pointiage^® and Crystal Rock techniques.

SWAROVSKI SHINE Activity Tracking Jewelry is available as a set, or as single products. Sets include the Swarovski Shine; a bracelet, watch band or pendant; and a sleek sport band featuring a 50m waterproof resistance, ideal for athletic activities and also to monitor sleep. The coordinating watch bands, bracelets and pendants are also available as single products that not only can hold the Swarovski Shine, but are also fully compatible with the Misfit Shine Fitness and Sleep Monitor.

Additionally, later this year, Swarovski and Misfit will bring another even more cutting-edge innovation to the Swarovski Shine family. In a vibrant violet, the tracker will be the first not to require any charging or battery changes.
