SAN RAMON, Calif., Aug. 16, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Switchmate today announces that the United States Patent and Trademark Office issued U.S. Patent No. 9418802 for the company's Switchmate smart lighting solution that magnetically attaches instantly over existing light switches, making smart lighting available for the first time to everyone.
The patent on the Switchmate light switch covers the entire device, including the mechanical design that turns on and off a light switch from a smartphone-powered app via Bluetooth, as well as the magnetic attachment method.
