Synchrony Medical Launches LibAirty™ Airway Clearance System in the U.S., Offering a New Standard for At-Home Respiratory Care
Clinically proven airway clearance solution now available; Company to showcase device at CHEST 2025 and NACFC 2025
JERSEY CITY, N.J. and OR YEHUDA, Israel, Oct. 8, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Synchrony Medical, a medical technology company dedicated to transforming respiratory care, announced today the launch of its LibAirty™ Airway Clearance System in the United States. The launch marks an important step forward for people living with chronic lung disease, providing access to advanced at-home therapy designed to improve daily breathing, reduce exacerbations and hospitalizations, and enhance quality of life.
LibAirty™ is the first and only airway clearance system to synchronize controlled, app-guided breathing with targeted chest compressions—a clinically proven combination that helps patients clear more sputum than other therapies1. Developed in collaboration with leading pulmonologists and inspired by the proven airway clearance technique of Autogenic Drainage, LibAirty transforms respiratory therapy into a simple, short, daily routine patients can easily perform independently at home, enabling effective lung disease management. The technology received FDA Clearance earlier this year.
"Synchrony Medical is redefining airway clearance," said Anat Shani, CEO of Synchrony Medical. "Our clinical studies showed that LibAirty enabled patients to clear twice as much sputum as standard vest-based therapy, with improved comfort and increased patient satisfaction. Through the launch of LibAirty in the United States, we look forward to bringing a new standard of care to people living with chronic lung disease across the country."
For patients with conditions such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), bronchiectasis, or cystic fibrosis, airway clearance is vital to managing symptoms, preventing infections and slowing disease progression. LibAirty provides a new generation of at-home airway clearance by guiding patients through breathing techniques while delivering synchronized chest compressions to direct airflow deep into the lungs to clear even hard-to-reach small airways.
"Treatments for chronic lung disease should be designed with patients' comfort and ease-of-use in mind to assure adherence," said Wayne Barfield, RCP, RRT, Respiratory Therapist at the Medical University of South Carolina, who trained patients on LibAirty during the clinical study. "LibAirty manages to incorporate the principles of autogenic drainage—a complex treatment that is challenging to teach patients to perform independently at home—enabling patients to benefit from the advantages of this well-established technique through an easy-to-use device."
Following FDA clearance received earlier this year and the establishment of its U.S. headquarters in Jersey City, New Jersey, Synchrony Medical is working with select healthcare providers, respiratory clinics, and home care partners to bring LibAirty to patients nationwide. As part of the U.S. launch, the company will showcase the system at key industry events this fall, including:
- CHEST Annual Meeting 2025 – October 20-22, in Chicago – Booth #644
- North American Cystic Fibrosis Conference (NACFC) 2025 – October 23-25, in Seattle – Booth #707
These events will offer physicians, respiratory therapists, and clinical researchers the opportunity to experience LibAirty firsthand and learn how its innovative approach can integrate into patient care pathways.
