Take Flight Learning will donate proceeds from sales of The Chameleon to support Born Free USA's National Bird Day initiatives
MARLTON, N.J., Dec. 28, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Take Flight Learning announced that the company is partnering with Born Free USA, a global leader in animal welfare and wildlife conservation, to raise money for the 15th Annual National Bird Day. Between January 5 and 7, all proceeds from sales of The Chameleon e-book, authored by Take Flight Learning CEO Merrick Rosenberg, will go towards bird conservation. To support the fundraiser, purchase an Amazon Kindle edition of The Chameleon: Life-Changing Wisdom for Anyone Who has a Personality or Knows Someone Who Does.
The Chameleon is a collection of 22 fables that help readers gain self-awareness, deepen relationships and live more fulfilling lives. The book draws its wisdom from the DISC personality framework (Dominant, Interactive, Supportive and Conscientious), which Rosenberg represents with four birds: Eagle, Parrot, Dove and Owl. He has conducted team building and leadership training for two-thirds of the Fortune 100 and more than 25,000 people total using these avian symbols.

National Bird Day, on January 5th, coincides with the end of the annual Christmas Bird Count, the longest-running citizen science survey in the world. Along with the Avian Welfare Coalition, Born Free USA created the event to both protect birds in the wild and educate the public about wild birds in captivity.
Proceeds from The Chameleon e-book will support education on the international trade in wild birds and the need to raise humane standards of care for pet birds. It will also help promote a deeper respect for and understanding of global avian conservation issues.
The parrot, one of Take Flight Learning's birds, is a top priority for wildlife advocates. According to Born Free USA, nearly 12 percent of the world's 9,800 bird species – including nearly one-third of all 330 parrot species – may face extinction within the next century. The exotic "pet" trade, in particular, has had a devastating impact on wild parrot populations.
