Talons Grows Men's Nail Care into a Category, Built Direct on SHOPLINE
In its first year on SHOPLINE, the New York brand has grown from a debut drop to a full line of press-on nails cut to fit men's hands.
NEW YORK, Sept. 10, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Talons, the first designer nail brand engineered specifically for men, has expanded from a single debut drop to a full line spanning signature, seasonal, and essentials collections, and has shipped more than 10,000 orders in its first year of business. The brand sells direct to consumers on SHOPLINE, the global commerce platform founded in 2013 that serves more than 700,000 merchants worldwide.
Founder Sasha Dash started the company after a moment of self-expression at Burning Man, the annual arts and community gathering held in Nevada's Black Rock Desert that draws tens of thousands of participants each year. What happened there turned into a question about why the category had never made anything for men. Nineteen years into a corporate career, he left to build the answer himself. "Every press-on on the market was cut for a hand that isn't mine," said Dash. "We measured hundreds of men's hands before we made anything, and the thing customers tell us most often is that a guy finally found something made for him."
Talons began with a fit problem. Press-ons had long been shaped and designed for women, leaving men without a product built for their hands or aesthetics. The company approached men in public and asked to measure their nails with calipers, gathering hundreds of sets of measurements before making anything. The mold that came out of it was correct on the first attempt and fits 95 percent of men's hands: wider, flatter, and shorter than anything else on the shelf. Talons come with pre-applied adhesive tabs and are designed to be trimmed to a man's natural nail length. They ship in a reusable tin that includes thirty nails offering fifteen options per hand, a clipper, a file, an alcohol wipe, and spare adhesives. Talons last 5 to 10 days per wear and are durable enough to be reused two to three times. Sets run $35 to $50.
The timing follows two decades of expansion in men's grooming, a $64.6 billion global market on track to reach $90 billion by 2034, according to Fortune Business Insights. Skincare, hair, and beard care all built their own shelves during that stretch. Talons is building the newest corner of it, with a product designed to fit men's hands that did not exist before.
Talons runs its storefront, payments, marketing automation, and customer loyalty on SHOPLINE, with social and multi-channel selling connected to the same system. For a small team building a category, that consolidation keeps the attention on product and community. The primary buyer turned out to be creative, expressive men between 25 and 45, with top-selling designs running from classic matte black and metallic chrome to Pride-inspired graphics. More than 15 percent of the brand's customers have come back for another set.
"The founders we want to work with are the ones opening a category nobody has served yet," said Christopher Yang, Co-President of SHOPLINE. "Talons knew who they were building for before they made anything, found creative ways to reach them, and earned their repeat business. That is what we are here to support."
