Tarte Cosmetics to Hold #stormoflove Fundraiser on 10/11 Supporting Natural Disaster Relief
NEW YORK, Oct. 10, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- In the wake of the past few weeks' devastating natural disasters, tarte cosmetics is expanding its philanthropic efforts with a new initiative, #stormoflove. The brand has rallied social influencers (like @nicolconcilio, @grav3yardgirl, @ellarie, @chrisspy, & @iluvsarahii) with a combined social following of over 50 million fans for a 24-hour live fundraising effort, which will be held October 11 on Facebook Live & direct those giving back to YouCaring.com/tartestormoflove. 100% of the proceeds of all crowdsourced funds will be donated to non-profit organizations supporting natural disaster relief, & tarte cosmetics will match all contributions up to $200,000.
"These disasters have affected millions of people internationally & created a dire need for aid," explained CEO and founder Maureen Kelly. "The recent tragedies have hit close to home. My family & I live in the Florida Keys & have witnessed the devastation first-hand, but there are more consequences of these natural disasters beyond the challenge of rebuilding."
Participating influencers will have 30 minutes to interact with and rally their fans to donate to a charity of their choice that is connected to disaster relief. They will direct those interested in donating to YouCaring.com/tartestormoflove, where fans can comment with their favorite influencer's code, signifying which organization they're donating to. Fans can also text "GIVING" to 56512 to give back.
To make it easy for good Samaritans around the world to send money to their favorite organizations, Kelly and her team have set up a nonprofit corporation that has filed an application for tax exemption under Section 501(c)(3), heart to tarte. For the #stormoflove initiative, heart to tarte will be sending 100% of the proceeds of crowdsourced funds to non-profit organizations supporting natural disaster relief.
