Taste of Iceland Festival Arrives in Boston September 25-27

The festival will transport visitors to Iceland through events inspired by and celebrating the best of Icelandic culture.

BOSTON, Aug. 27, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Taste of Iceland 2025, organized by Inspired by Iceland, returns to Boston from Thursday, September 25, through Saturday, September 27. The cultural festival celebrates Iceland with events across the city showcasing the best of Icelandic culture, including food, music, nature, literature, science, comedy, and more.

Taste of Iceland celebrates and shares Iceland's traditions and culture with the people of North America. In partnership with local businesses and Taste of Iceland's official partners, featured events will be hosted at Artists for Humanity, Eastern Standard, The Middle East Club - Sonia, Trident Booksellers & Café, and Venture Café Cambridge.

Most events are free and open to the public. Tickets are required for most events, and guests are encouraged to arrive promptly to guarantee entry. Tickets are available on the Inspired by Iceland website.

Icelandic Menu at Eastern Standard: Ready to taste a plate full of Iceland? Icelandic Chef Bjarki Snær Þorsteinsson and Eastern Standard Chef Brian Rae will prepare an Icelandic feast, drawing inspiration from the country's natural beauty. Indulge in a showcase of Iceland's finest ingredients and flavors, crafted into an outstanding dining experience. The menu will feature centerpiece ingredients from Iceland, including cod from Icelandic Seafood and High Liner Foods and lamb from Icelandic Lamb. From Glaciers to Genomes: Life Science Innovation in Iceland: This inspiring session, in collaboration with Venture Café and Cambridge Innovation Center, will explore Iceland's contributions to global health, biotech, and innovation—from groundbreaking genetic research to cutting-edge health technology. Hear from Icelandic life science experts and health-tech founders about what it's like to work, live, and do business in Iceland. Guests will also gain unique insights into how Iceland's natural beauty shapes innovation in life sciences and learn how to get involved. 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Venture Café Cambridge. Iceland Airwaves Off-Venue: Enjoy a free concert curated by the Iceland Airwaves, an award-winning music festival in Reykjavík, featuring superserious and Sunna Margrét, with DJ Hermigervill spinning Icelandic tunes between sets. Indie band superserious is known for its energetic live shows, catchy alt-rock sound, and bright, retro-tinged beat. Sunna Margrét combines glitter trip-hop, lo-fi beats, and haunting vocals, leaving a lasting effect on audiences. Through a diverse collection of works by Icelandic artists, the exhibit captures often-overlooked moments and hidden narratives, inviting viewers to experience Iceland through a fresh lens. Northern Lights in Boston: Learn about Iceland's fascinating northern lights—which are expected to shine even brighter in 2025, 2026, and 2027—with astronomy and science educator, Sævar "Star-Sævar" Helgi Bragason, hosted by Icelandia.
