TeamHealth Acquires PhysAssist Scribes, Inc.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn., Oct. 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- TeamHealth Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: TMH), one of the nation's largest providers of outsourced physician staffing solutions for hospitals, announced the acquisition of PhysAssist Scribes, Inc. (PhysAssist). Based in Fort Worth, Texas, PhysAssist provides scribe services for more than 155 emergency departments in 22 states. Founded in 1995, PhysAssist was the nation's first scribe company and is a leader in the development of the scribe services industry. With the increasing complexity of care delivery in the emergency department, including the expanded use of electronic medical records, scribes provide a means to enhance physician productivity by reducing the administrative burden of paper or electronic documentation while allowing a greater focus on patient interaction.
