TEC Announces Alliance With Bryan Texas Utilities

AUSTIN, Texas, Aug. 27, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Texas Electric Cooperatives (TEC) leadership recently announced an alliance with Bryan Texas Utilities (BTU), the Lone Star State's fifth-largest municipally-owned electric utility. BTU reaches beyond Bryan, serving customers in rural and urban areas and bringing parts of three counties into the area already served by TEC alliance partnerships.

BTU currently provides power to over 58,000 meters using nearly 2,300 miles of overhead and underground distribution line, as well as 186 miles of transmission line. As a municipally-owned utility, BTU has a special relationship with its customers, going the extra mile to emphasize transparency and accessibility, while giving them access to information that helps them make smart utility decisions. BTU's many services include AMI metering, remote connect and disconnect abilities, online daily consumption graphs, resources for customers interested in solar power, and programs for homes and businesses.
