SACRAMENTO, Calif., March 24, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- TechNet, the bipartisan political network of CEOs that promotes the growth of the innovation economy, today announced the significant strengthening of its state program operations in California with the hiring of Eve Grossman-Bukowski as its California Executive Director.

Grossman-Bukowski, who has directed the government affairs operation for the Port of Oakland since 2000, brings more than two decades of experience and enormous talent in legislative and regulatory advocacy to TechNet, as well as a wealth of experience in managing coalitions.  She will be responsible for the organization's state legislative advocacy, political operations and member relations in California.

"We are fortunate and delighted to have Eve Grossman-Bukowski, with her tremendous talent and contacts across the state, join the TechNet team as our California Executive Director," said Rey Ramsey, President and CEO of TechNet.

"We are thrilled to welcome Eve to TechNet," stated Merissa Khachigian, Director of State Government Affairs, Oracle, and chair of TechNet's California Public Policy Committee.  "She has a proven track record in state public policy and the skill set to continue TechNet's leadership as the tech sector's premier voice in Sacramento."

"Her deep experience, her legislative advocacy, her energy and her experience in founding and running a member organization will significantly strengthen our operations in Sacramento," said Jim Hawley, General Counsel and Senior Vice President, State Policy. "This is a huge win for TechNet's state advocacy program."

Widely regarded as the most effective advocacy organization for the technology sector, TechNet brings together technology sector leaders to advocate for policies to promote innovation and technology.  Members of TechNet's Executive Council include the chief executive officers and senior leaders from companies in sectors such as information technology, biotechnology, clean energy and venture finance.  Earlier this year, TechNet hosted a CEO meeting with the Silicon Valley legislative delegation to discuss how to restore the state's technology leadership and long-term economic growth.

Ms. Grossman-Bukowski will be based in Sacramento.  She starts her position in April.
