NEW YORK, July 31, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The ADVERTISING Club of New York, the industry's leading professional organization representing the vision and mission of the global advertising community across crafts, honored Brad Jakeman, President, PepsiCo Global Beverage Group, as its 2015 Advertising Person of the Year at a celebratory cocktail event on Thursday, July 30, 2015. Sponsored by Yahoo, the event took place from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in New York City's Chelsea Piers.
Each year, The ADVERTISING Club of New York recognizes those who have made outstanding contributions to the advertising industry with the Advertising Person of the Year Award and celebrates the recipient at its annual reception. Established in 1959 by The American Advertising Federation, recipients are those who have made successful contributions to his or her organization, who have shown a consistent, high degree of creative ability, who have worked to raise the standards of the advertising profession, and who dedicate time and energy in areas of social concern.
This year's honoree Brad Jakeman is a highly respected force in the advertising and marketing community and widely regarded for his ability to drive powerful and engaging brands through innovative, creative and consumer-centric programs and platforms. Over the past ten years, Jakeman's work has accumulated more than 200 awards, including an Emmy for the "Live Richly" brand platform while at CitiGroup.

Currently Jakeman serves as President, PepsiCo Global Beverage Group where he pioneers global strategy, brand building, innovation, productivity and processes for PepsiCo's global portfolio of beverages and brands including Pepsi, 7UP, Mountain Dew and Mirinda, among others.
Before joining PepsiCo, Jakeman served as Executive Vice President, Chief Creative Officer & Chief Marketing Officer for Activision Blizzard Inc., the world's largest videogame and interactive entertainment company. There, Jakeman spearheaded the marketing efforts for Guitar Hero and Call of Duty, the latter yielding the largest entertainment launch in history – garnering over $600M in sales in only four days of release. He also served as Executive Vice President for Marketing at Macy's Inc. and helped create the retailer's first national brand campaign by partnering with Martha Stewart, Jessica Simpson, Kenneth Cole, Tommy Hilfiger, Emeril Lagasse, Kimora Lee Simmons, Russell Simmons, Usher, Sean (P. Diddy) Combs and Marc Ecko. In addition, Jakeman serves on The AD Club's Board of Directors.
Jakeman joins a prestigious list of recipients as the AD Club's Advertising Person of the Year including:

Also during the ceremony, Sunny Xu, an undergraduate student from the Macaulay Honors College at Baruch College, CUNY, received the $5,000 Brad Jakeman Scholarship. Sunny has a number of well-rounded accomplishments on top of her high academic achievements and impressive professional internship experience.
