ATLANTA, July 31, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Throughout the month of August, supporters of the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer who register and raise $25 online will receive their choice of a pink YOUnited™ cape or bandana, while supplies last. The pink gear is a visible way for participants to show their support of Making Strides, a key source of support for the American Cancer Society's efforts to reduce the impact of breast cancer. This opportunity ends September 5th at noon CDT.
Making Strides walks celebrate survivorship, pay meaningful tribute to loved ones lost, and encourage collective determination to fight for a world without breast cancer. This year, Avon joins as the first-ever National Presenting Sponsor of American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.
"These simple items are a way for us to recognize the dedication of passionate individuals in communities across the country, because united, we can do more," said Susan Petre, vice president, staff events and innovation for the American Cancer Society. "On event day, we wear pink to unite in the fight against breast cancer and we want to make sure our supporters have the opportunity to proudly wear the pink YOUnited™ gear."
Each year, more than a million passionate women, men, and children participate in Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, the largest network of breast cancer awareness events in the nation. The events unite communities by honoring those affected by the disease and raising money to reduce the burden of breast cancer. Dollars raised through Making Strides Against Breast Cancer help the American Cancer Society fund innovative breast cancer research; provide education and guidance to help people reduce their risk; and offer comprehensive patient support to those who need it most so that no one facing breast cancer ever has to walk alone.
