BERLIN, Nov. 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Starting on November 27th, the leading online auction house Auctionata will take art lovers on an exciting journey to discover art from a broad range of nations, styles and artists: Over the course of eleven days, around 2,000 artworks will be offered for sale in 15 special-themed livestream auctions and the crowning highlight auction '100 Masterworks' on December 7th. With this comprehensive series of art auctions, Auctionata is the first auction house to invite its international bidders on an excursion through the multi-faceted history of art, which can be followed from anywhere in the world. The journey starts on November 27th with Eastern European and Russian art. In two consecutive auctions, bidders will find paintings of renowned artists such as Franz Roubaud and Nikolai Bogdanov-Belsky, as well as decorative arts, porcelain, bronze, and silver objects and a particularly noteworthy collection of miniature paintings.
On November 28th, the journey will take bidders to the Netherlands, Belgium and Scandinavia, with an auction focusing on Old Master paintings, as well as 19th century artworks and expressive paintings from the 20th century. In the subsequent auction, works of the German masters of the 19th century, such as Christian Eduard Boettcher and Carl Spitzweg will be offered.
The next destination is Austria on November 30th, when a comprehensive range of paintings of Austrian artists of the 19th century, such as Johann N. Rauch, Albin Egger-Lienz, Herbert Gurschner and Carl Probst will go under the hammer. The following auction 'German Art of the 20th Century' will present works by important representatives of both Impressionism and Expressionism, such as Otto Modersohn, Karl Schmidt-Rottluff and Max Ernst.
The auctions on December 1st continue with modern and contemporary art from Austria, featuring a particularly noteworthy collection of Hundertwasser prints. Moreover, the auction 'German Zeitgeist: Post-War Art' will present several highlights, including works by Horst Antes, Martin Kippenberger and Herbert Zangs.
On December 2nd, the journey will take art lovers to France. The first auction is dedicated to artists who lived and worked in the city of Paris, such as Leon Zeytline, Marc Chagall, Sonia Delaunay, Piet Mondrian and Serge Poliakoff. The second auction continues with highlight pieces of French Art from the 18th to the 20th century, featuring works of the major Impressionist and Avantgarde artists, such as Paul Signac, Raoul Dufy, and Bernard Buffet.
Moving further to the west, the journey continues on December 3rd with an auction for Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Art, including works from Joan Miro, Antoni Tapies, and Federico Herrero. The sale is followed by a comprehensive auction for Italian Art, offering works from the 16th to the 21st century.
The auctions on December 4th will create an interesting juxtaposition of Eastern and Western art. In the auction 'China Now! & Asian Contemporary Art' works from Zhang Xiaogang, Wu Shanzhuan and Song Hyun-Sook will be presented. Subsequently, 'Born in the USA: Modern & Contemporary Art' will offer many outstanding highlights, for example by Alex Katz, Sol LeWitt, Robert Longo and Joan Mitchell.
On December 5th, the journey will take art lovers to the United Kingdom, with an auction dedicated to British Modern and Contemporary art. The auction will present works by Lucian Freud, David Hockney and Marc Quinn and a large collection of works by Damien Hirst, presenting his iconic motifs of skulls and butterflies, as well as his famous spot and spin paintings.
The grand finale of Auctionata's Art Journey will be celebrated with the auction '100 Masterpieces' on December 7th, which will resume with a finely selected collection of international masterpieces ranging from the Old Masters to the icons of contemporary art. One of the highlights in this sale is Henri Matisse's 'Tete de jeune fille' with a starting price of €90,000. Moreover, works from Liu Ye, Franz Kline, Bernard Aubertin, and Alberto Giacometti will go under the hammer.
