The Beacon Group of Companies Adds Industry Vet Mark Schatzel as Vice President of Retirement Sales

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa., June 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Beacon Group of Companies, a broad-based financial services company based in King of Prussia, Pa., has added Vice President of Retirement Sales Mark Schatzel to their corporate retirement planning practice. Schatzel brings more than 15 years of experience in retirement planning services. In this new role, he will help business owners and executive staff improve their group retirement plans.

Before joining The Beacon Group, Schatzel worked as a wholesaler at Lincoln Financial and The Standard, where he specialized in enhancing small business group retirement plans. Prior to that, Schatzel worked at Vanguard for nearly ten years, where he earned his expertise in retirement plan education, investing and consulting.

Schatzel has his Series 6, 7 and 63 Securities Licenses as well as his Annuity, Life, Health and Accident Insurance License. He holds the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPCO) designation from the College for Financial Planning. Schatzel graduated summa cum laude from Immaculata University with a degree in Financial Management. He also obtained his Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIFO) certification after the completion of a comprehensive curriculum on the fiduciary standards of care.  As an AIF® designee, Mark helps 401(k) plan sponsors understand the legal and regulatory requirements for managing investment decisions of behalf of others, apply a prudent investment process, identify potential areas of liability, and take corrective actions to improve processes to protect the organization and participants.
