The Chicago School of Professional Psychology Brings Experts Together to Discuss New Insights from Neuroscience for Mental Health Solutions

WASHINGTON, Feb. 18, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- To place much-needed focus on the necessity of including mental health care as a core part of any discussion on the future of healthcare in the U.S., The Chicago School of Professional Psychology will be hosting a  "No Health Without Mental Health"  symposium on Wednesday, March 18^th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. EST. at the Kaiser Permanente Center for Total Health. The event will also be webcast.  The Chicago School is a nonprofit university, and one of the leading institutions devoted to psychology, and related behavioral and health sciences.

The "No Health Without Mental Health" symposium will offer attendees a high-impact discussion on the way we think about ongoing healthcare reform, placing particular emphasis on neuroscience and exploring new insights from studies of the brain that provide solutions to some of the most complex problems facing our healthcare delivery system.

The No Health Without Mental Health symposium is a complimentary event and is co-sponsored by the Kaiser Permanente Center for Total Health and the Mental Health Association of Montgomery County. An ongoing part of TCSPP's 35^th Anniversary celebration, the symposium is the second in a series of events designed to create a national conversation to reframe views on mental health. The first event, Let's Talk Solutions, took place in November 2014. Also in 2014, The Chicago School established the institution's first Master of Public Health Program, linking mental health to overall health and well-being through a new Health Sciences Division. The results of the No Health Without Mental Health symposium and the Let's Talk Solutions event will be compiled to be released in a fall 2015 report, also entitled No Health Without Mental Health.  The purpose of the report is to outline the mental wellness issues facing our society today and to suggest some strategies for dealing with them.
