DETROIT, May 16, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Children's Center of Wayne County hosted its Tenth Annual Power of Possibilities Breakfast fundraiser, themed "Future Starts Here." More than 500 community and business leaders gathered at The Westin Book Cadillac in downtown Detroit for the event presented by Ford Motor Company. Event proceeds exceeded $365,000, including a $100,000 challenge match from Lisa & Bill Ford, Jr., along with Natalie & Rob Sims, Ralph C. Wilson Foundation, and R.H. Bluestein.

More than 7,500 children and families residing in Greater Detroit receive services from The Children's Center annually. The organization has specialized in providing quality mental and behavioral health services for children and families for nearly 85 years. In recent months they've expanded their services to children and families on the Autism spectrum in Wayne County by 200% on their midtown Detroit campus. Additionally they provide early childhood education to nearly three hundred 3 – 5 year old children through a Head Start Academy located in Northwest Detroit.
