The Club Mobile App Saves Holiday Shoppers Time and Money

CHICAGO, Nov. 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Just in time for the holidays, General Growth Properties (NYSE: GGP) launches an enhanced version of its mobile application. The Club app is back in a big way, and this year's enhancements arm on-the-go shoppers with a unique shopping guide that not only saves shoppers money, but lessens the stress of shopping this holiday season. The Club app delivers several new upgrades, including push notifications to alert users of their favorite store sales, a Google^® map feature to help shoppers find the fastest route to their favorite GGP mall, live Facebook^® feeds, GPS capabilities and more.  Android and iPhone users can download the free app through the Android Market or App Store by searching The Club Shopping Mall Guide. 

The application allows users to customize their preferences so their local GGP mall's information is displayed.  As shoppers navigate through their favorite stores, they will find plenty of exciting in-mall offers and seasonal activities like the Jump on the Jingle Black Friday event.

The Club Functionality

The Club app is smarter, sleeker and features improvements that allow users to customize their preferences so their local GGP mall's information is automatically displayed. The application includes a store directory and mall map – even identifying the closest parking locations to help shoppers quickly navigate their way to their favorite retailers. And, no longer will shoppers wonder where the nearest bathroom, ATM or restaurant is located as these key destinations are easily marked within the app.  

The Club Incentives

The Club app alerts users when fresh content is added, including sales and event information, by featuring stars on the home screen. For example, if a retailer announces $10 off a purchase, a star is featured on the home screen next to the "sales" category.  Additionally, push notifications can be set up to allow shoppers to receive real time updates when a new sale or event at their favorite retailer is announced.  The Club app also allows users the opportunity to play a daily instant-win game for a chance to win a $50 Shop Etc. Mall Gift Card, and offers additional promotions to shoppers who are in a GGP mall, which is detected through GPS capabilities.

The convenience doesn't stop there!  If shoppers are wondering if their mall gift card is running low, they can check the balance right from their phone in the "my mall" category of the app.  Customers also can find out what others are saying about their mall via live Facebook feeds, and can even quickly look up movie listings and times for centers with movie theatres.

In addition, The Club app highlights special events at the 150-plus GGP malls throughout the country.  Exciting holiday events at GGP malls include: a Jump on the Jingle Black Friday Event on November 25, where shoppers will be treated to early-bird specials, such as gift-with-purchase incentives and surprise giveaways; MagicSnow^® where malls will be transformed into a winter wonderland twice daily from mid-November through December 24; Merrier Fridays, a program where shoppers can earn a $10/$20 gift card, while supplies last, when they spend $100/$150 or more in mall purchases on December 2, 9 and 16; and St. Nick's Pet Pics^®, which is hosted every Monday night from November 28 through December 12 and invites pet owners and their favorite four-legged friend to capture an adorable holiday photograph with Old St. Nick.
