The Dremel Brand Initiates A National Search For Makers In Residence

MOUNT PROSPECT, Ill., July 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Dremel^®, the brand trusted by Makers, tinkers, artists and hobbyists for more than 80 years, is bringing users inside with the launch of its first-ever Maker in Residence program. While the Dremel brand continues to play an integral role in the worlds of art and ingenuity by putting its tools in the hands of brilliant Makers, it's also acting as a social catalyst for the Maker movement. 

The Dremel Maker in Residence program will open the application process with a contest that launches July 23 and runs through Aug. 25. Makers who embody the passion, enthusiasm and expertise in do-it-yourself projects are being invited to apply for a chance to win coveted Dremel tools, as well as a unique opportunity to collaborate directly with the Dremel brand.  The prize pack of tools is valued at $5,000 and includes the Dremel 3D Idea Builder™ (3D printer) and Sprout by HP, an intuitive new computing experience.

The first cycle of Dremel Maker in Residence program winners will each be honored as a Chief Maker, a title unique to these new residents, and will be officially announced at the World Maker Faire in New York on Sept. 26.
