The Flora-Bama® Hosts 28th Annual Interstate Mullet Toss And Gulf Coast's Greatest Beach Party®

PENSACOLA, Fla., April 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Flora-Bama, the "Last Great American Roadhouse", on the Florida/Alabama state line, proudly presents the 28th Annual Interstate Mullet Toss and Gulf Coast's Greatest Beach Party®, April 27-29, 2012.

This iconic Mullet Toss consists of individuals on the beach throwing a mullet, from a 10-foot circle in Alabama across the state line into Florida. It's also a great excuse to throw a weeklong party. This year's events kicked off with the Flora-Bama Mullet Man Triathlon, Saturday, April 21st and continue with the Flora-Bama Mullet Swing Golf Classic, Wednesday, April 25th.

The 2012 Interstate Mullet Toss and Gulf Coast's Greatest Beach Party will begin at noon Friday, April 27th and 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 28th & Sunday, April 29th. Celebrity Tossers will show their strength at high noon each day.

A contribution for each fish flung will benefit local youth charities, including a local school education and prevention program from the Community Drug & Alcohol Council, Inc. (CDAC). The CDAC provides community support and collaboration to address drug and alcohol abuse, tobacco, mental health issues and violence — both in the home and on our streets.

Other daily events include three stages of live music, beach games and great food. The Flora-Bama will also host a daily bikini contest on the tent stage at 3pm. Ladies will compete in this contest to earn the title of Ms. Mullet winning cash, prizes and the opportunity to compete in the Ms. Flora-Bama Bikini competition.

Each year, with help from Flora-Bama patrons, sponsors and fans, the Flora-Bama generates more than $20,000 in charitable donations from this world-renowned Gulf Coast Party.
