The Historic 'SEOUL INT'L PHOTO & IMAGING INDUSTRY SHOW 2011' to Kick off on April 21

SEOUL, South Korea, April 19, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- 'SEOUL INT'L PHOTO & IMAGING INDUSTRY SHOW (PHOTO & IMAGING 2011)', Korea's leading photo show to introduce the latest photo and imaging relative apparatus, is going to take place at the COEX, Seoul for 4 days from April 21 to April 24.

As of its 20th edition, the 'PHOTO & IMAGING 2011' is the sole international business trade show in this area which will show digital cameras, printers and more. Since its opening in 1989, it has been contributing to the development of Korea's photo & imaging industry. 125 companies from 25 countries including Korea are going to introduce their products and technologies.

Many exhibitors plan to unveil lots of new products to meet consumer's various needs for this show. In particular, Samsung Electronics, who is doing very active marketing activities to lead the mirrorless camera market such as releasing 'NX11', its mirrorless camera with 14.6o mega pixels, will show the superiority of Korea's representative brand.

In addition, Canon, Nikon, Olympus and Panasonic etc. from Japan will present high-tech DSLRs, mirrorless cameras and camcorders and visitors can experience their new products at this show. Moreover, the needs for photo printer, memory for digital camera and portable storage is increasing continuously. Surely, manias will love this.

The 'PHOTO & IMAGING 2011' has gotten the certification as the international exhibition by UFI for the first time in Korea in 2002 and it has been focusing on marketing to attract overseas buyers supported by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy as selecting the promising exhibition 10 years in a row. Also, as the result of its systematic overseas promotion through the professional photo magazines in USA, Germany and Japan etc., large delegations for purchasing from many countries are coming.

Last year, it had recorded 14 million dollars of purchasing consulting and 5 million of contract and it is expected 16 million dollars of consulting and 6 million dollars of contract.

Meanwhile, various concurrent events and seminars will be also organized for this edition with the theme of 'Propose.'

In particular, the 'Asia Pacific Print Competition', which will be evaluated by Professional Photographers of America and photo exhibition organized by SLRCLUB, Korea's largest photo specialized club with 1.3 millions of members is going to take place during the show. And, expert seminars for professional photographers through PPA teacher and P&I seminars with various themes (utilizing social media, photobook, color management, image revision and photoshop retouching etc.) will target general visitors.

Along with these, the '4th Seoul Photo 2011,' Asia's first photography specialized fair since 2008, is going to be held. It is expected that Czech and Slovakia, as the guest countries of honor, will show unique photography style and trend being different from USA and UK style which has affected on Korean photography culture.
