The Kenmore® Brand Invites Americans To Cook Their Way Into Kenmore History

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill., July 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- As part of its year-long 100^th Anniversary celebration, the Kenmore brand and Shop Your Way seek America's best-loved recipes at select state fairs and on cookmore.com this summer. Winners of each contest will be awarded more than $8,000 in prizes, including brand new Kenmore kitchen appliances and a feature in a limited edition Kenmore 100^th Anniversary Cookbook.

Inspired by the nostalgia of apple pie bake-offs and anything served on a stick, the Kenmore brand and Shop Your Way will visit state fairs, arguably the hotbed of home cooking and the toughest cooking contests in the country, to uncover some of America's best heritage recipes. These recipes, along with others, will be compiled to create a limited edition 100^th Anniversary Cookbook available later this year.

Now through Aug. 1, Americans can cook and click their way into Kenmore history by submitting their heritage recipes and stories on cookmore.com. For each recipe uploaded, Sears will make a $5 donation to Heroes at Home to support military families*. The grand prize contest winners at each state fair and on cookmore.com will receive**:

• A $5,000 Kenmore kitchen appliance makeover;
• A trip to New York for the New York City Wine & Food Festival presented by FOOD & WINE to have their winning recipes served up along with the nation's best;
• A feature in a limited edition Kenmore 100^th Anniversary Cookbook, which will be unveiled at the Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival presented by FOOD & WINE

In addition, anyone who enters a recipe on cookmore.com will automatically become a Shop Your Way member and be able to take advantage of all of the points, perks and privileges of membership.
