The New Mexico Public Education Department Selects eScholar as its Early Childhood Integrated Data System (ECIDS) Vendor

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., June 30, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- eScholar, the leader in data and analytics solutions to support personalized education, today announced that the New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED) has selected the eScholar Complete Data Warehouse® and eScholar Uniq-ID® as the foundation for the state's Early Childhood Integrated Data System (ECIDS). With its solutions, eScholar is striving to help NMPED meet its goal of ensuring that every child in New Mexico has a strong foundation for success in school and beyond.
The ECIDS will provide New Mexico's stakeholders with an integrated, 360 degree view of programs and services provided to each child served by early learning programs across the various state agencies that provide these services, including the Public Education Department, the Department of Health and the Children, Youth and Family Department. This comprehensive view is designed to measure the effectiveness of early learning programs in improving the outcomes of the children served, and to more effectively plan for program funding.
ECIDS' goals are very sophisticated, but familiar to eScholar. The eScholar Uniq-ID and eScholar Complete Data Warehouse have been deployed by state education agencies of all sizes for various data collection, integration and analysis projects, including NMPED's Student Teacher Accountability Reporting System (STARS). eScholar implemented STARS in 2006 and has continued to refine it over the years to meet evolving requirements for state and federal reporting and as the state's technology infrastructure changed. With eScholar focusing on the design and maintenance of the system, New Mexico can focus on analyzing and using the data to evaluate the impact of their early childhood programs.

With the eScholar Uniq-ID for ECIDS, each person that is part of an early childhood program will be assigned a unique identifier that is not based on personally identifiable information (PII), and is never duplicated or reused and will only be visible to authorized users of the secure system. With the Uniq-ID Link, ECIDS will have the ability to integrate data dispersed across the numerous state agencies serving the early learning population, and build and maintain a longitudinal record that will be used to understand how and which programs work best to prepare students to succeed.
The data warehouse component of ECIDS will be powered by the eScholar Complete Data Warehouse. The CEDS-aligned data warehouse will collect data from the ECIDS partner agencies, integrate that data, and prepare it for reporting and analysis. eScholar is working with NMPED and its partner agencies to ensure the security and privacy of the data.
With the New Mexico's ECIDS project underway, eScholar continues to expand its work in using data to personalize education, from early childhood to postsecondary education and workforce.
