The North Coast College Offers To Low Income Students Tuition Payment Free Scholarship While In College
CLEVELAND, March 18, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- President Dr. Milan Milasinovic has announced The North Coast College will offer a scholarship for low income students that will not require tuition payments while in college, effective immediately.
The North Coast College will offer a scholarship to all qualified, need-based, degree-seeking students, that will reduce the total tuition cost by 70%, payable after students graduate in $50 biweekly payments paid over 10 years. To determine eligibility, a completed FASFA is required. This scholarship reduces the total the total tuition cost by 70%. This scholarship does not include the costs of books, fees, and/or supplies.
This scholarship cannot be combined with other scholarships.
To maintain eligibility students must adhere to the following:
- Maintain a full-time enrollment status of twelve semester credit hours per academic term. Students may enroll in more than twelve credits at their own discretion and course availability. Note that the scholarship program applies to twelve credit hours only. Breaks from study may be approved upon consideration for extenuating circumstances.
- Maintain a 2.0 or higher GPA, all SAP requirements, and the Student Code of Conduct.
According to Milasinovic, the change is reflective of a new strategic direction and an intentional effort to provide low income students the cost-free path to graduation.
The North Coast College as an independent college is proud to be the first and only independent college who decided to support low income students by providing an opportunity to study tuition cost free. Students are expected to pay back only a 30% of what would be the cost of degree, once they graduate and join the workforce. The installment payments for associate degrees are paid over 10 year in bi-weekly payments of $50.
Since assuming the role of president in June 2015, Milasinovic and his leadership team have redefined art and design education, developing a disruptive curriculum based on how the brain actually works and learns. In this hybrid career/academic curriculum students combine core art and design coursework with fundamental business classes on finance, organizational behavior and entrepreneurship, delivering components of a complete skill set that is essential to the workplace.
