The PlayVS College League (PCL) Launches to Transform Collegiate Esports

PlayVS Expands Collegiate Esports Platform to 1,000+ Campuses for the 2025–2026 Season 

LOS ANGELES, July 30, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- PlayVS, North America's leading esports platform, today announced the official launch of the PlayVS College League (PCL), a new competitive ecosystem that brings structure and accessibility to the rapidly growing collegiate esports landscape.

The launch of the PCL marks a significant milestone in PlayVS' mission to build the most comprehensive academic esports ecosystem, supporting students from middle school through college and opening doors to career-aligned opportunities in broadcast, management, and media.

Designed to be flexible and inclusive, the PCL gives college gamers a competitive platform with no roster caps, per-seat fees, or team limits. Students can compete in 17 titles from top publishers, making it easier than ever for programs of any size to get involved.

The league equips schools with tools to boost participation, track performance and statistics, build community, and compete at varying levels of sophistication. National playoffs for the Fall & Spring seasons will culminate in LAN events and PCL will provide travel stipends for qualifying teams.

League participants span a wide range of schools, including Alvernia University, Columbia College, Cumberland University, Fisher College, Harrisburg University, Rochester Institute of Technology, San Jose State University, Stony Brook University, Syracuse University, the University of Akron, the University of Maryland, the University of South Florida, and Virginia Tech.
