The Power of 10: Canadian Wildlife Federation and Ten Tree Inspire a Movement

OTTAWA, Sept. 18, 2013 /CNW/ - The Canadian Wildlife Federation (CWF), Ten Tree and top international athletes have teamed up to inspire a new movement to encourage youth to live active outdoor lifestyles. That's the Power of 10.

"Telling people to get off their computers won't work. We need to use technology to inspire people to get outdoors -- the inspire videos and ambassadors do that!" says Kalen Emsley, one the Ten Tree creators. "This is a new approach and we are excited to see how it works."

Jordan Eberle, Jeb Corliss, Amanda Ruller, Sean Weatherspoon and Vanina Walsh are among the athletic ambassadors for the CWF and Ten Tree Inspire Movement. Kurt Sorge, Jamie O'Brien, NastiaLiukin, winners of So You Think you Can Dance, and the rowing team OAR Northwest are also part of the motivational approach geared to youth aged 15-30.

Each celebrity role model is featured in a video for the #Inspire10 campaign. The mash up features the Top Ten Reminders for the Wild and Free:

The Inspire Movement is a spin-off of an incredibly successful CWF and Ten Tree Inspire video launched one year ago which has received more than a million views.

"It's time to view our connections to wildlife through a different lens," says Luzny. "I'm proud and excited to drive such a unique approach to conservation education."
