The Practising Law Institute Provides Extensive Coverage of Dodd-Frank Act

Leading non-profit organization produces Audio Briefings and Practice Center providing expert guidance on Wall Street reform.

NEW YORK, July 29 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Practising Law Institute (PLI), the nation's premier provider of  continuing legal education, is providing guidance to lawyers and other professionals through a series of audio briefings addressing many aspects of the new legislation. Since April of 2010, PLI has offered over eight different briefings on topics such as private placements, derivatives, swaps, the Volcker Rule, executive compensation and pensions. Additionally, a dedicated Practice Center page provides in-depth analysis of the complex provisions of the Act.

With the passage of the Act, formally entitled the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010, the financial industry and public companies will be impacted by substantive regulatory reform. PLI's series and Practice Center are designed to keep lawyers and other professionals up-to-date on the Act's impact on both their practice of the law, and the business of their clients.

Introduced in April, the audio briefings currently include eight individual One-Hour Briefings on discrete legal topics. PLI will continue to roll out additional briefings as new issues arise. Each briefing is presented by lawyers from leading law firms, corporate counsel, and select U.S. Government officials. These briefings are offered live via PLI's website,   and are available in an on-demand format soon after they occur at PLI's Dodd-Frank Act page.

Additional briefings will be added addressing corporate governance issues raised by the Act.

The series follows closely on the heels of the launch of PLI's Securities Law Practice Center, which contains a wealth of information about the Dodd-Frank Act.
