The Siegfried Group Welcomes New Professionals from the Central Region for New Hire Orientation

WILMINGTON, Del., Jan. 15, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Siegfried Group, LLP recently hosted new professionals from across the United States at Hotel Monaco in Philadelphia. The group learned more about the Firm's unique model, various departments and functions, and heard Robert L. Siegfried, Jr., CPA, CEO and Founder, speak about the Firm's higher purpose.

Siegfried's New Hire Orientation program is centered on introducing new professionals to the Firm's extraordinary culture. It is a great opportunity to meet members of Leadership, the Operations team and other fellow Professional Resources, while enjoying an exciting venue. The four-day program includes sessions on the Firm's structure, Siegfried's Client Service Delivery Model, Professional Resource expectations, as well as interactive presentations from all of the departments throughout the company. The orientation kicked off with a welcome reception at The Continental Mid-town's Rooftop Lounge and throughout orientation, the group was able to enjoy dinners at some of the finest restaurants in the area including Bank & Bourbon and Sampan Restaurant.

The Siegfried Group is excited about Mervisa Johnson, Jonathan Newcombe, Joseph Osiecki, Jessica Sturgill and Matthew Wasserbauer joining the Firm.

Mervisa Johnson, CPA
Mervisa is a Certified Public Accountant who joins the Philadelphia Metro Market as a Senior Associate. She was previously employed at KPMG Philadelphia and PwC where she served in the asset management, real estate and insurance industries.

Mervisa's attention to detail, willingness to go the extra mile and exceptional team spirit, allow her to deliver quality work on her engagements. According to Mervisa, "The ability to continue to gain extensive knowledge and experience in an accelerated learning environment drew me to The Siegfried Group."

In her free time, Mervisa enjoys dining with friends as well as travel and the arts. As a native of the Caribbean, she favors various watersports. She also loves hiking and taking in the beauty of different places across the globe: from architectural structures to natural forms via zip line, ATV or rappelling. She also enjoys music, singing, writing and reading.

Jonathan Newcombe, CPA
Jonathan is a Certified Public Accountant who joins the Philadelphia Metro Market as an Associate Manager. He comes to Siegfried from Liberty SBF, a national commercial real estate lender, where he served as a Senior Credit Analyst. With over five years in public accounting experience with multiple firms, such as PwC, he has a wide breadth of industry experience, including large manufacturing, pharmaceutical and healthcare companies. He received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the City University of New York, Hunter College.

Jonathan is a self-starter, who thrives on reinventing through his strong drive and creative thinking. With his solid leadership style, he is able to provide unorthodox solutions by directing individuals and groups with confidence and success. His unending natural curiosity and fearlessness in approach help inspire others to be innovative.

Outside of the office, Jonathan is active in a number of charities in the Philadelphia area.  He is a former treasurer and emeritus board member of Challah for Hunger, a national charity focusing on social justice and food security issues. He remains active as an alumnus of his college, sitting on a committee dedicated to student life on campus and has been a regular speaker at campus events. He is also a dedicated runner who has completed marathons and half-marathons all over the country.

Joseph Osiecki, CPA
Joe is a Certified Public Accountant who joins the Philadelphia Metro Market as an Associate Manager. He comes to Siegfried from Deloitte, where he gained four years of audit experience with a focus in technology. He received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from St. Joseph's University.

Joe's work ethic is the cornerstone of his success, which he brings to each project. He says, "The ability to be able to work with Fortune 1000 clients and the best in the industry is why I wanted to be a part of Siegfried."

In his free time, Joe stays very active and enjoys activities that involve a challenge. He likes going to the gym, hiking and building computers in his spare time. Throughout his time at the Big Four he was able to carve out time to engage in these activities and will strive to maintain his active lifestyle while also achieving client goals.  

Jessica Sturgill
Jessica joins the Cleveland Market as a Senior Associate. Her career began at EY, where she was in the assurance practice for two and a half years before moving into industry. While in industry she worked in internal audit as well as SEC reporting for a public manufacturing company and a public energy company. She received her Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with a major in Accounting and minors in Information Systems and Management from Slippery Rock University.

Jessica's strong work-ethic and communication skills, coupled with her ability to adapt well to changing environments makes her an asset in the workplace. She states, "The reason I joined The Siegfried Group is the fact that I missed the client service aspect along with the challenging opportunities of the work that this Firm has to offer."

In her free time, Jessica loves watching and rooting for all Cleveland sports teams and enjoys playing all sports. She also likes outdoor activities, traveling and entertaining with friends. In the winter, she likes to travel to tropical beaches for a nice getaway each year.

Matt Wasserbauer
Matt is an exceptional professional who joins the Cleveland Market as a Senior Associate. He comes to Siegfried from EY, where he gained four years of audit experience with a primary focus on manufacturing. He received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Akron.

Matt prides himself on providing superior client service by utilizing his analytical ability to identify and help implement solutions. He does this through communicating with the client to understand the desired outcomes of the project and execute on requirements. He engages with the entire team to generate innovative solutions to complex client needs and facilitate exceptional outcomes.

During his free time, Matt enjoys working on his new home and spending time with friends. He is an all-around Cleveland fan and loves to enjoy sporting events downtown. He is also an avid golfer that is always looking for new courses and challenges. Matt plans to use the winter to work on his new home and get back to playing water polo during the summer.
