The Siegfried Group Welcomes New Professionals from the Chicago, Cleveland and Detroit Markets for New Hire Orientation

WILMINGTON, Del., Dec. 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Siegfried Group, LLP recently hosted new professionals from across the United States at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Marina Del Rey, California. The group learned more about the Firm's unique model, various departments and functions, and heard Robert L. Siegfried, Jr., CPA, CEO and Founder, speak about the Firm's higher purpose.

Siegfried's New Hire Orientation program is centered on introducing new professionals to the Firm's extraordinary culture. It is a great opportunity to meet members of Leadership, the Operations team and other fellow Professional Resources, while enjoying an exciting venue. The four-day program includes sessions on the Firm's structure, Siegfried's Client Service Delivery Model, Professional Resource expectations, as well as interactive presentations from all of the departments throughout the company. The orientation kicked off with a welcome reception at the Ritz Carlton's Upper Pool Terrace and throughout orientation, the group was able to enjoy dinners at some of the finest restaurants in the area including La Vecchia Cucina and Cast & Plow.

The Siegfried Group is excited about Michael Jordan, Chris King, Jose Sancen, Deepti Talwar and Cory Treharn joining the Firm.

Michael Jordan, CPA

Michael is a Certified Public Accountant who joins the Chicago Market as a Director. He comes to Siegfried from Evraz Inc. NA, where he spent four and a half years as the Senior Manager of Financial Reporting for the U.S., overseeing the close and consolidation of Evraz's U.S. legal entity. Before joining EVRAZ, he served as the Corporate Controller for Kinetek Industries, Inc. where he was responsible for oversight of all accounting and financial reporting. He started his career with EY, where he spent six and a half years in their audit practice. Michael received his Bachelors of Science in Accounting from the University of Rhode Island, where he currently sits on the College of Business Advisory Council.

Michael's unwavering work ethic and proven leadership skills enable him to motivate team members to execute, meet deadlines and accomplish goals. Michael says, "The consistent challenge of helping clients with their complex and time sensitive problems is what drew me to joining the Siegfried team."

Michael is an avid Chicago sports fan and enjoys going to games whenever possible. Michael is also very active with his fraternity, Zeta Beta Tau, serving on ZBT's national board of directors and as a chapter advisor. 

Christopher King, CPA

Chris is a Certified Public Accountant who joins the Detroit Market as a Senior Associate. Chris comes to Siegfried from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan where he gained insurance industry experience with a primary focus on consolidations. He also spent over two years with UHY where he gained audit experience in the manufacturing, services, and non-profit industries. He received his BBA in Management and MS in Accounting from Walsh College.

Chris prides himself on being prepared for any task. He enjoys working with others and is committed to excellence. His confidence and great enthusiasm, motivate his teams to achieve goals in an efficient and timely manner. Chris says, "The excitement of taking on a multitude of accounting areas in order to grow as a CPA, along with working alongside the best and brightest in our occupation, is the reason I joined The Siegfried Group".

In his free time, Chris stays active through running and sports. He spends most of his time with his wife and kids. He is an avid Detroit Red Wings and Tigers fan. He enjoys spending time at the family cottage at Houghton Lake where he and his family boat, fish and have a good time.

Jose P. Sancen

Jose is an exceptional accounting and finance professional who joins the Detroit Market as a Senior Associate. He comes to Siegfried from PwC, where he gained two and a half years of audit experience with a primary focus in the Consumer and Industrial Products and Power and Utilities industries. He received his Bachelors of Science in Accounting from Wayne State University.

Jose's ability to lead, strong work ethic and humility allow him to bring out the best in his teams. His bi-lingual fluency in English and Spanish along with his diverse mindset makes him a distinctive player in the workplace. Jose says, "Exposure to many of the nation's largest corporations, critical and challenging projects which more fully utilize and develop my skills, and the Firm's unique culture is why I wanted to be a part of The Siegfried Group."

In his free time, Jose enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He is an avid supporter for the revitalization of Detroit and volunteers his time by serving on advisory groups for local nonprofit organizations in ethnically diverse and low income urban communities. He is passionate about volunteering his time to teach financial literacy and mentor the youth in these communities. He believes that all kids need a little help, a little hope and someone who believes in them. 

Deepti Talwar, CISA, APICS

Deepti joins us at as a Special Project Employee to assist with internal audit assignments in the Detroit Market. She is a certified CISA and Supply chain consultant and is an Industrial Engineer by education. She has 17 years of work experience in Information Technology consulting and IT audits. She comes to Siegfried from EY, where she was a Senior Manager in the Performance improvement practice within Advisory Services. Deepti has worked across the industry verticals of automotive, consumer goods, industrial and utilities. She enjoys working on business technology and system implementation audit reviews.

In her free time, Deepti enjoys interior design and making flower arrangements. She loves to travel and her consulting job has enabled her to do so across the globe and meet people from various cultures.

Cory Treharn, CPA

Cory is a Certified Public Accountant who joins the Cleveland Market as an Associate Manager. He comes to Siegfried from Jo-Ann Fabrics and Crafts, where for two years he gained experience in general accounting, financial reporting and internal audit. Prior to Jo-Ann Fabrics and Crafts he was with Grant Thornton, LLP where he gained two years of audit experience, with a primary focus on the energy industry. He received his Bachelors of Science in Accounting and his Bachelors of Science in Accounting from The University of Akron.

Cory takes great pride in continually surpassing expectations. He is able to motivate others, achieve results and provide exceptional client services by maintaining a focused demeanor. His ambitious nature, mental agility and strong communication skills combine to bring added value to the client.

In his free time, Cory stays active with family, friends and sports. He is a huge Cleveland Indians fan and is waiting for any Cleveland team to bring home a championship. He also enjoys golfing and hiking through the area metro parks.
