The Siegfried Group Welcomes New Professionals from the Northeast for New Hire Orientation

WILMINGTON, Del., Sept. 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Siegfried Group, LLP recently hosted new professionals from across the United States at the Ritz Carlton in Marina Del Rey, California. The group learned more about the Firm's unique model, various departments and functions, and heard Robert L. Siegfried, Jr., CPA, Chief Executive Officer and President, speak about the Firm's higher purpose.

Siegfried's New Hire Orientation program is centered on introducing new professionals to the Firm's extraordinary culture. It is a great opportunity to meet members of Leadership, the Operations team and other fellow Professional Resources, while enjoying an exciting venue. The four-day program includes sessions on the Firm's structure, Siegfried's Client Service Delivery Model, Professional Resource expectations, as well as interactive presentations from all of the departments throughout the company. The orientation kicked off with a welcome reception at the Ritz Carlton's Marina Del Rey Upper Pool Terrace, and throughout orientation, the group was able to enjoy dinners at some of the finest restaurants in the area including Cast & Plow and The Chart House.

In the Northeast Region, Siegfried is excited about Cindy Cheng, Michelle DeMasi, Sin-Yan Ng, James Potter, Alyssa Santa Maria and Jacques Westraadt joining the Firm.

Cindy Cheng, CPA

Cindy is a Certified Public Accountant who joins the New York Market as a Manager. Prior to joining Siegfried, she spent two years at AIG where she served as both an Accounting Manager and a Supervisor for the Financial Reporting Group of AIG Controllers, and also worked on external audits at EY and WeiserMazars. She has worked as an Assistant Controller for a small-sized staffing firm for four years prior to starting her audit experience. She received her Bachelor of Business Administration with a Major in Accounting and Minor in Economics and Finance from Baruch College.

Cindy is enthused by new challenges and prides herself in thinking strategically, where she sets priorities and motivates herself and her team to exceed expectations. Cindy says, "The task of working on new client projects and having the opportunity to challenge myself in order to meet the clients' goals are why I wanted to be a part of The Siegfried Group."

In her free time, Cindy stays active through cooking and traveling. She enjoys trying new recipes and adding her own twist to them and loves to learn about other cultures and their food while traveling!

Michelle DeMasi

Michelle is a sought after accounting Professional who joins the Stamford Market as a Senior Manager. She comes to Siegfried from Design Within Reach Inc. and previously Pepsi Co and PwC, where she gained almost nine years of accounting experience. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Fordham University with her BS in Accounting.

Michelle focuses on adding value through effectively communicating and consistently finding ways to improve any project. Her positive attitude and lead-by-example approach motivates her teams towards success. Michelle says, "I joined Siegfried for the interesting and challenging work and the ability to provide significant value to my clients."

In Michelle's free time she likes to be outside hiking, walking, going to the beach, anything that can get her outdoors. She loves to try new restaurants and activities. She also likes to take at least one big trip a year and is currently she is planning a trip to Bali with friends. 

Sin-Yan Ng

Sin joins the Short Hills Market as an Associate Manager.  She comes to Siegfried from Liberty Mutual Insurance and PwC, where she gained six years of insurance experience and four years of audit experience in the technology and software industries, respectively.  She received her Bachelors in Accounting and Finance and her Masters in Accounting from Northeastern University.  

Sin is a passionate professional who is committed and focused on any project that comes her way. She isn't afraid to challenge the status-quo with her innovative ideas. Sin's mental agility allows her to quickly solve problems and lead others towards taking a collaborative approach.  On why she wanted to join Siegfried, she says, "My Pioneering Solutions enable me to unconventionally contribute real value on my projects and provide visionary results that help clients achieve their ultimate goals."

Sin loves to travel, from sleeping overnight under the Sahara Desert's, stars to where you can see your feet through the Caribbean waters.  She was born in Hong Kong, spent the majority of her life in Boston, and now lives in New Jersey while working in New York.  Although she doesn't live there anymore, she still carries with her that Bostonian pride and fire!

James Potter, CA

James is an enthusiastic Chartered Accountant who joins the New York Metro Market as a Senior Associate. Having just moved to the United States, he comes to Siegfried after two years of various consulting roles in London, where he worked within large government departments, as well as in the media and communications industries. Prior to that, he gained four years of audit experience with BDO New Zealand, leaving in 2013 as an Assistant Manager. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and Commercial Law from Victoria University of Wellington.

James brings his confidence and advanced communication skills to every project, which make him a valuable and integral member of any team. James says, "Having the ability to take on challenging projects in a variety of new industries, is the main reason I wanted to join The Siegfried Group."

In his free time, James is an avid traveler, having visited over 30 countries in the last two and a half years. He also stays active through playing a variety of different sports, with a particular interest in soccer. When he's not playing sports or visiting a new country, he's likely out socializing, or finding the nearest TV to watch his beloved Arsenal in the English Premier League.

Alyssa Santa Maria

Alyssa Santa Maria joins the Short Hills Market as an Associate Manager. She comes to Siegfried from McGladrey, where she gained five years of audit experience with a primary focus in the employee benefit plan industry. She has also been exposed to investments and not-for-profit work.  She received her BS in Accounting from Loyola University Maryland and she is currently pursuing her Masters in Accounting from the University of Connecticut. 

Alyssa is known for her attention to detail and for continually exceeding high expectations. Her thorough communication and strong leadership skills enable her to work collaboratively with coworkers and clients. Alyssa has the ability to execute a plan with precision, always ensuring accuracy and holding others to that same high standard. Alyssa says, "The opportunity to work with new people and gain exposure and knowledge in a variety of industries, is why I wanted to be a part of Siegfried."

In her free time, Alyssa enjoys staying active through Pilates. She also enjoys traveling, dining out, going to the beach and shopping.  Some of her favorite travel spots include Paris, San Francisco, the Grand Canyon and the French Riviera. Spending time with family and friends is very important to her. 

Jacques Westraadt, CA

Jacques is a Chartered Accountant who joins the Short Hills Market as a Senior Manager.  He comes to Siegfried from PwC with more than 11 years of public accounting experience gained in the US, Australia and his native South Africa. He received a Bachelor of Commerce Honors and his Bachelor of Commerce Accounting degrees from the University of Kwazulu-Natal and the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, respectively.

Jacques works collaboratively with his teams and clients. He strongly believes in open lines of communication, flexibility and utilizing innovative ideas to solve challenging problems.  Jacques says, "I am excited about gaining exposure to new and diverse challenges, whilst also enhancing my current set of skills."

During his free time, Jacques loves to travel and explore new places. He also enjoys reading and is an avid tennis fan. Currently he and his fiancé are spending the majority of their free time planning their wedding and are planning to say "I do" in December.
